Coffee with Laura in Padstow
2 mins read
Laura is National Workforce’s Business Manager in Padstow. With plenty happening in the Padstow branch, we had a coffee with Laura to find out how job seekers in the area can land their perfect job.
Laura, what sort of jobs are you recruiting for at the moment?
We currently have lots of roles we are trying to fill. We are looking for Process Workers – who have specifically worked in a cold storage environment, Forklift Drivers, Pick Packers, and Offsiders.
Are there any sectors experiencing growth?
Our clients in the Food and Pharmaceutical industries have experienced significant growth during the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, with restrictions easing in NSW, we are starting to experience some growth in the Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics.
How can job seekers stand out and get the job?
As most companies are now doing online interviews, I think it is important to remember to remove all distractions. Turn off anything that’s likely to ‘ding’ during the interview. This means closing all email and other applications and turning your phone to silent.
Secondly, be prepared. Preparation is key to any good interview. Make sure you research the organisation and the person (or people) who will be interviewing you. Have a glass of water, tissues, a pen to take notes and a copy of your resume close by.
If someone has missed out on a role, what’s your advice?
Ask for feedback. It’s always good to know how you can better yourself for next time and don’t give up.
