We checked in with our Business Manager in Rocklea, Dodie, to find out her top tips for job seekers in the area.

Dodie, what industries do you think will experience growth in QLD on the other side of COVID-19?

In Queensland, there are many major road and highway upgrades and other infrastructure projects that will continue to see the need for workers in civil construction. We have also seen growth in manufacturing, including the need for process workers. Logistics is another area that has seen steady growth, especially during COVID-19.

If a job seeker can’t find work right now, what’s your advice?

The most important thing is to hang in there. The market can go quiet, but things are starting to pick up. Ensure your resume is always up to date and ready to send out so when that perfect opportunity arises, you will be ready to hit send.

How can job seekers stand out and get the job?

I have three golden tips for job seekers:

1 An easy to read and up to date resume

2) Apply for work you have experience in or that you can demonstrate why you’re the right fit

3) Have a positive attitude. If I can see that you are keen and resilient, it tells me you will be someone employers will want on their team
