Important Notice: Recruitment Scam Alert
NW People has been made aware of a recruitment scam currently circulating in Australia and internationally, where individuals are impersonating legitimate recruitment agencies, including NW People.
These scammers are contacting jobseekers via WhatsApp, Telegram and similar messaging apps, using copied branding, fake job offers and the names of real recruiters to appear credible.
Please note: If you receive a message via WhatsApp or Telegram claiming to be from NW People, it is not genuine.
What to Watch For
Scammers may:
- Contact you unexpectedly
- Claim to be a recruiter using a real name, logo or company details
- Offer unrealistic pay or “guaranteed” income
- Ask for personal information, identification documents or payment
How NW People Will Contact You
- We do not use WhatsApp or Telegram
- We will never request payment or sensitive personal information
- All legitimate communication comes from an official NW People email address or a verified phone call
If You Receive a Suspicious Message
- Do not respond or share any personal details
- Stop engaging and block the sender immediately
- Report the account to the platform on which you were contacted
- Forward a screenshot of the message to it@nwpeople.com.au
NW People has reported this activity to the appropriate authorities.
Report to Authorities
If you believe you may have shared personal information, report the incident immediately to ScamWatch and the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
